Australian Native - name unknown
Fifteen years ago I planted a new part of our garden with many native plants. I love them because they flower off season and take little water to sustain them. The problem is I dislike labels hanging from garden plants, so promptly removed them as I planted. Now I cannot remember many of their names. This one is quite intriguing. Very soft foliage with the tiniest of flowers along the stem. The elongated flower itself is no more than 6mm in length and is fully mature. I love the way the petals are arranged so geometrically and the colour graduates from rose to pale yellow in the tips.
It's not the prettiest to most eyes, but I find it very appealing. The extras are more predictable. The wattle is in full bloom and still the gum nuts keep popping happy tutus.
