The unveiling at Hallyards.

Professor Jack Hill—Visiting Fulbright-Scotland Professor (Distinguished Chair) and Research Fellow, Institute of Irish and Scottish Studies, University of Aberdeen gave a truly brilliant four minute speech today at Hallyards house on the life of Adam Ferguson.   Hallyards was the country home for a while of Ferguson, one of the leaders of the Scottish Enlightenment and arguably on a par with Adam Smith and David Hume.
Ferguson's salon in Edinburgh (in his Sciennes House) was the place to be.   There it was that the boy Walter Scott met the man Robert Burns.
Hallyards is being rescued by Mike and Megan, with the help of Tony.  The mind boggles at the scale of what they have achieved and what is still in the pipeline.    The story of the lime harling alone is worth hearing.
