The Crystal Mile.

Nearly a month ago, on the 13th May to be precise, I posted a blip of The Red House Glass Cone. Today, whilst passing through Stourbridge, we came across this monument to the local glass industry. It refers to The Crystal Mile along the Stourbridge Canal which was the location of the the main glass factories which included such well known brands as Royal Brierley, Stuart Crystal, Thomas Webb, Webb Corbett, Royal Doulton, etc. etc.

In fact 2012 brings up the 400th anniversary of glass making in Stourbridge which is quite an achievement for such a relatively small town.
