The Homecoming
The picture at the top was taken in 2003. We had gone to the Lord of the Rings exhibition at the Natural History Museum the day after watching the first release of The Return of the King (number three in the series) at the Empire, Leicester Square.
That was the last time we were all together; so twelve years later all my children have travelled from far flung places, Stratford in the case of Tom, to be together again with me.
Emma's was only a flying visit between a wedding and birthday celebrations (neither hers).
The rest of us went off for an impromptu lunch followed by a long coffee stop at Nero, after the mandatory photos outside Shakespeare's birthplace for our overseas visitors.
This evening it's tea at the Dirty Duck always supposing the jet-lagged amongst us can stay awake.
Late News: It was a great meal and a great evening.
