Continuing saga

The saga of our blocked drains continues.

Last week we had a repair done to the drain on our land.

However this only partly solved the problem.

So our insurance company contacted United Utilities who sent out two men to examine further.

The image on the fancy machine is better than my photo of the machine.

The camera has found another inspection chamber that has been covered over.
There are two drains coming into it and the bit on the right is a tree root, estimated to be filling half of the drain.

The upshot of all this?

Well, because it's a shared drive, our insurance company shouldn't have bothered doing any work or taking any of our insurance excess from us.

Shared drives are the responsibility of the water authority.

So the work should have been free of charge.

Worth remembering if you have a shared drive.

The second part is there will need to be more digging to repair the drains.
At least now we know we won't have to pay anything.
