Another Languedoc year...

Weeds

So I told you we had weeds as high as an elephant's eye. Well here's the proof. This morning we tried to beat the wind and were in the vineyard by 7am. Here's Ali spraying the upper Grenache at about 11.30 - by which time it was blowing a stiff breeze. We wore protective glasses and special anti-fungicide T-shirts (I jest about the latter).

We had just about finished the top half of the vineyard by noon, before we ran out of gloop. We'll do the final 50 vines when we've finished the amphitheatre tomorrow morning.

Once the spraying's finished it's back to strimming. And you can see why. I'll blip an 'After' photo in a couple of weeks' time.

PS - Our family of collared doves were attacked by the jackdaws who have a nest not three metres from the doves' nest. We came home to find the babies and adults gone. We'd seen them being attacked so the sad outcome was only a matter of time. My my, Nature can br mighty cruel.
