What big eyes (and ears) you have!
With their triple spiral horns kudu bulls tend to steal all the limelight but the females of the species are just as beautiful as I hope this shot shows. This and the extras were all taken on a lovely sunny Sunday drive up the Eastern Shores to Cape Vidal.
The first extra shows what a problem ticks are to all mammals - this kudu cow's ears have collapsed due to an infestation which may well have jeopardised her chances of survival.
The vervet monkey in extra 2 at least had the manners to wait until the corn cob had been discarded before making sure it was stripped clean - many of his brethren at the braai area at Cape Vidal will steal the food from your plate given half a chance.
Extra 3 is a white-eared barbet playing peek-a-boo.
And finally that old safari cliché, the two zebra grooming one another - but the light was rather special at that time in the afternoon.
