Holehird
Today's the day ............................. to walk round the garden
Took myself off to Holehird, the home of The Lakeland Horticultural Society this afternoon. Set in superb Lakeland scenery above Lake Windermere, the 17 acre gardens are maintained entirely by volunteers and supported by voluntary donations.
I love walking round these gardens because they are full of the sort of plants that I like most - alpines and perennials.
And when you've seen enough plants - you can look across to the Lake District mountains silhouetted on the skyline. The biggest bump to the right of centre is Harrison Stickle with Pike O'Stickle to the left - then Allen Crags, Great End and Esk Pike ............................
