A dead electricity meter
We left Hay-on-Wye a day before we had planned, as the weather was so miserable.
On the way back we must have seen 50 to 60 E-type Jags coming in the opposite direction, over the space of about 15 miles, so I guess there was a rally on somewhere.
We arrived home to no electricity. A call to our electricity distributor revealed not a lot. No-one else had reported a power cut. They asked us to push the trip switches up and down to see if that helped. It didn't. We were then told it could be several hours before it was sorted.
I went to the meter to take a photo of it in its dead state. I put my flash on and as I "clicked" the meter and all other electrical items that had been on before the power cut, burst into life, and it made me jump out of my skin.
I've had to crop this right down to eliminate all serial numbers on the meter. I'm afraid it was the only photo I took all day. Too wet and miserable to venture back out.
