took faithful steed up to Coed Llandegla. It's changed, and for the better. when comparing to the likes of Coed y Brenin the red route always felt closer to a blue and the black closer to a red, but with the trail investments over the past year they've definately sorted that out, with some fab north shore sections and some pretty technic'ly steep climbs. good for the lungs and legs, with a cracking dollop of new fast-flowing downhilly stuff.

i opted for the red, with a couple of black descents and a few too many crafty shortcuts thrown in to ensure i got home handy enough for some pasta and a long hot soak. good grief, it was hard work. i made the fatal error of not packing a snickers or banana, and around 4/5ths of the way round my thighs hit a wall. but rescue came in the form of a friendly bloke from Australia who chanced upon a spare kit-kat in his backpack.

oh praise the lord. it was food of the gods, that.

i intended to post today as my first ride on Strava, but i'd blastedforgotten to charge the iPhone enough so it died on me 1/3 into the ride. arserations. there's a good number of entries on there for the segments i did ride though, with some astonishing times in the top ten. motorbikes. my money's on motorbikes. or horses. or maybe even strapped to the tails of excited foxes...
