Westhaven
14.7C starting dry with showers developing towards lunchtime and through the afternoon. Zephyr.
Maeve the Deerhound was out in her garden until 11am when I decided we would go for a walk to try and beat the arrival of the showers which the BBC web forecast showed arriving around 1pm.
We went up to the church then continued out along the country road to Scryne. Light rain came on as we passed the field where the bridle path starts. We carried on out the road then turned right at Craigmill farm and went down the track to the shore road. Part way down the track we saw a fox come out of the field to our left and start walking along the track. It paused, turned round, and spotted Maeve at which point it scooted off into the field to our right at pace before I had even thought about taking my camera out of its case. Having a Maeve in one's company is not condusive to wildlife hanging around to be photographed. We came back along the cycle path and went down to the beach at Westhaven via the level crossing. The rain had gone off.
We took our time wandering along the beach. The tide was almost fully in. Valhalla A, Shamara II and the smaller boats were moored in the sheltered offshoot of the channel though the rocks.
We came up off the beach at the car park at Westhaven then came back over the road bridge over the railway then carried on round in a long loop heading into Carnoustie and up the main road before turning along for home. Heavier rain came on as we walked up the main road and we were grateful to be able to stand under a big tree in the dry until the worst of the shower passed by. Maeve spent part of the afternoon lying looking out of the office patio doors hoping to get back out into her garden.
