The old Toll Gate, Barcombe Mills Bridge.

This Fine old toll bridge over the River Ouse was originally built in 1066 when tolls were paid in kind rather than cash. In the 1800's a fixed fee was charged and this remained in force until a new road was build which by passed the old bridge.
