BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER
I have had a lot of fun doing the Abstract Thursday challenge and it has certainly made me look at things very differently - I was never one for abstract photographs or paintings before starting this, but now when I look at something, I am wondering how I can turn it into an abstract.
Yesterday afternoon, when I went past a tree at the bottom of our road, I stopped and took several photographs, thinking that they might be worthy of an “abstract” blip; I must admit I did get a few strange looks from another neighbour! What with going out in my pink robe and slippers and taking close-up photographs of a tree trunk, they probably think I am losing it completely and they could be “blipping” right!
I set up my camera, swung it around a lot, took this photograph of a cushion cover and then “titivated” it in my Fotor app on the Macbook. There were a couple of different options that I liked colourwise, and it was difficult choosing my favourite - so I have put the other one in my extras, but I could live with either of them, depending on my mood.
I think even after the challenge finishes, and thanks to Youoregon1, who says this will be the last edition from him, I may still do an abstract on a Thursday - some things just become habit, like MonoMonday, TinyTuesday, WideAngleWednesday and FlowerFriday!
“To abstract is to draw out
the essence of a matter.
To abstract in art is to separate
certain fundamentals
from irrelevant material which surrounds them.”
