A double delight
G and I had a very interesting and enjoyable day out at two National Trust places today, Hidcote and Upton House.
Hidcote is a great Arts and Crafts garden with lots of different 'rooms'. It is lovely, but the sun only appeared on occasion which detracted from taking photos of the gorgeous flowers.
Upton House also has lovely tiered gardens, and there was an added bonus of the house being transformed into a country house at war. It was beautifully 'dressed' with clothes, office equipment and ephemera from the 1940s war era. A great exhibition!
The main photo is of an air raid precautions first aid kit - with not a lot in it to help! I've included two extras, one of the old irons in the laundry at Upton House, and one of flowers (lilies???) at Hidcote.
