Lac de Moiry

*Back blipped yesterday.

One of the things that never ceases to amaze me in the mountains is how quickly torrential rain and impenetrable cloud can change to fantastic clear blue skies.
Waking to such a day today we were soon underway, the whole group sad to be leaving such a great hotel, me keen to be back in eleven days.
Walking through buildings dating from 1509 was atmospheric, but we were too early to take part in the Swiss National Day fete that was being set up.
As we climbed we were above a magnificent inversion that I oh so nearly blipped, sat on the Col du Torrent for lunch I was sure the view couldn't be bettered - but that was before we descended to the aquamarine jewel of the Lac, this blip reflects its colour very accurately - an astounding thing to see.

Now its a rest day in Zinal - ideas for the clients so far are via ferrata, trail running (they're from a running club) or tandem paragliding.
Me - I'm looking forward to a lazy breakfast, a stroll & a good book.
