Small Heath (and a Hitch-hiking Extra)

Small heath butterfly - Coenonympha pamphilus

First ones I've seen this summer.


There were some meadow browns around as well.


While I was taking photographs of one of the browns, a fly briefly landed on its closed wing before realising its mistake and taking off again.
I have the proof.

I have called the image 'Hitchhiker' and included it as an 'Extra'.
