It's Elmo's 50th birthday party, and one amazing cake!

Elmo's a friend from university days - another folk dancer so his day was filled with dance - from Morris to French. Elmo's one of those people there ought to be more of; exuberant, creative, and a genuine friend to everyone.

E and I had spent the morning exploring the Peak District north of Matlock and had been very pleasantly surprised to some some really nice woodland walks, meeting practically no-one in four hours. Even got a little "temporarily uncertain of position" as, I gather, the military say it.

Then we made our way up to Youlgreave where the evening party was to be, and had a happy few hours chatting, eating and dancing Contra dances. We headed wearily back to the B&B when the dancing switched to French. I never did get on with French dance - love the music though.
