GBBO is back!

I had a welcome day's holiday today, ostensibly to stay home for the doormen to come and fit my new back doors but I also caught up on some, though by no means all, ironing; put away piles of washing; and began to lay out clothes for my upcoming holiday.

The blind man also came to quote and measure up for four new blinds for the back of the house and has done me a good deal.

So, the new doors are in but need to be finished off tomorrow. Here's my kitchen stable door, which needs to be varnished in due course. The new door from my sitting room into the garden now opens outwards. I've had it open this afternoon and I'm very pleased with the difference it will make on bringing the outside in. I just need to get a hook to hold it open so it doesn't bang and slam. I'm going to offer L a month's rent free if he'll do these various jobs for me.

I had my first training session of the week later on in the afternoon and it was very hard but I got there. I needed it as I have felt stressed and wound up this week, not least after work hassles; the car needing a new battery; and my credit card once again bring stopped by the fraud people after I used it to pay for my doors. That's the third time in six weeks and I'm beginning to wonder if they're trying to get me to move to another company as, once again, they would not speak to me on the phone as I couldn't answer all their wretched 'security' questions. (They don't make any money out of me as I always pay the bill in full every month so I wouldn't be surprised.) Yet again, I've got to go into the bank in person with ID. Right before my hols too. What's the betting they'll cancel it again when I try to use it abroad. Aaaaggghhhh!

I'm planning to watch the 'Bake Off' and'Witnesses' to relax a bit tonight...
