Dry Season
Despite having endured many rainy afternoons in Pátzcuaro this past two weeks, it is still the dry season. The reservoir adjacent to the highway we take traveling back and forth is visual reminder the rains have not yet started. When I lived in Washington State, we would travel Snoqualmie Pass on a regular basis and see the exact same effect during the summer months. The reservoir would be almost totally empty by this time of year, to be refilled (most years) by the winter rains and spring snowmelt. It is one similarity this part of our adopted country shares with our former home state and probalby one of the reasons we feel so comfortable.
