Cumbria Here I Come

By marpaul

All wrapped up

Had things to do in Keswick this morning.  Haven't been there for ages and it was so busy.  Changed my mind about a walk at Derwentwater so went to Bassenthwaite instead.  The little car park was empty and there were only a handful of people at the lake including the lady in my blip who was wrapped up very well and was hoping to see an Osprey before she goes home to Somerset tomorrow.  She and her husband have been going to the lake every day for the past week but were very disappointed not to have seen one.  Apparently they come to Bassenthwaite every year and always manage to see them.

Misty and her friend were with me too and they had lots of fun chasing each other, see Extras.  Lots of lovely wildflowers too and again see Extras :)

Found a dead bat in the garden earlier, quite close to where the other two dead ones were a couple of months ago.  Wonder what's going on?  Earlier in the week there was a dead hedgehog in the lane, very sad.  No other hedgehogs in the garden which is very unusual.
