Life in Newburgh on Ythan

Roosters

We are safely returned from our holiday in Kent, Normandy and God's own country (aka Yorkshire). I have  a lot of blank blip days due to a serious lack of WiFi and the fact that I left my camera charger at home! I will try to fill some of the empties once I have cut the silage field that is masquerading as our lawn.
Today's offering is a group of Rooster potatoes that have sprung into new life during our absence. After our visit across the channel it seems somewhat appropriate given that the Gallic rooster is an unofficial symbol of France as a nation. The association of the cockerel with France dates back from the Middle Ages, a play on words in Latin between Gallus, meaning an inhabitant of Gaul, and Gallus, meaning rooster, or cockerel.
