The Pleasure of Texture and Color

Can't resist sharing another abstract on this abstract Thursday. All for the pleasure of recreating. This is actually a fresh magnolia seedpod on a stump. Sometimes the squirrels are hungry enough to bite into these and eat a bit before throwing it down. Perhaps in distaste... My favorite stage in the pods is when the red seeds pop out, but these are of a more subtle beauty with their blushing velvety surface.
