In Search of Old Torquay- Head Gardener's Cottage
At the Palm Court end of the Rock Walk is a drab stone cottage which was built in 1840 and was a toll house until 1862. Following this it was the Head Gardener's cottage, and was also known as Dyer's cottage after one long serving gardener. In more recent times it was a public convenience, and of course still charged a toll. A sad looking place now
