Retail therapy

I really love Belfast. I was born in the Royal Victoria hospital, right in the city centre, and both my mum and dad hailed from the city, too.

I have discovered my favourite way to travel there - straight up Belfast Lough into the Port itself.

A few of my lovely astronomy pupils gave me a gift of afternoon tea at the Merchant Hotel, one of the top establishments in Belfast. The Ards Man and I decided to go there this afternoon and what better way to arrive than by boat!

It has been a warm, sunny day, the first for ages, so we are making the most of bit by staying up in town and having a weekend en vacance.
