Well-traveled Ale
It was a good day.
After pickleball this morning, I came home earlier than usual to meet someone who was interested in buying a surplus workbench of mine. The guy showed up on time, paid my asking price, and hauled the bench away in the back of his pickup.
After our afternoon yoga class, Cynthia made her usual call at the library, and then I persuaded her to go to the Archer Pub for a drink and a light meal. Really -- I almost had to resort to twisting her arm.
We shared a huge plate of "Irish Nachos" -- very thinly sliced russet potatoes topped with Tillamook Cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon, with a large dollop of sour cream. We also shared a small salad and a flourless chocolate cake. It was a great meal, and we vowed to return again soon. The beer was good, too!
Feeling the need for more exercise afterwards, we strolled along the trail to Taylor Dock, pausing to pick (and eat) delicious little blackberries. It was a beautiful sunny evening. We watched some youngsters jumping off the dock rail into the bay and waved to the departing Alaska ferry before returning home.
