A glimpse of summer

After a mixed morning, with a horrendous downpour.

I went with a friend to Dudmaston, a beautiful National Trust property not far from Bridgnorth and the Severn Valley Railway.  It was a bit overcast and cloudy when we arrived so we walked round the lake first - a pretty stroll with vistas to enjoy in all directions.

Then, a pleasant sandwich and (my favourite) Fentiman's Rose Lemonade  (also available with Gin) and we headed for the house. Once we were safely inside, the heavens opened and we could gaze on the rain lashing down through the windows. The park was transformed in the downpour.

And by the time we were out, it was clear again.

On the way home, we stopped at a lovely farm shop, near Norton, and this was the glorious sky and English countryside that greeted us.
