A dainty damsel
The sun shone this afternoon. Continuing the theme from the weekend, I went Odonata-hunting at a local wildlife trust reserve - Monkwood. The pond was surprisingly quiet, there were a couple of hawkers whizzing about; a ruddy (I think) darter which didn't sit still long enough to have its photo taken and then this very obliging specimen which sat around extremely still - even during a few wafts in the wind.
Identification yet to be confirmed - I think it's a female blue-tailed. Waiting for a friend to confirm who has my book !
