Garden Reflection

As I sat on Sue's patio sipping tea this lunch time, I noticed that a mirror she had had hanging up in the hall has been moved to the patio, adding an extra dimension to her garden.

The petunias are still overflowing their containers but are beginning to fade.

It was a heavy, oppressive day. Difficult to believe that thundery rain is expected only on Friday.

Basil and I had gone down to the Shepshed Watermill earlier, with photos of flooding to show to Radio Leicester presenters, who had been scheduled to be at the watermill to meet local residents and hear their objections to Charnwood Borough Council's planning department's likely approval of 3200 homes across the road from the mill.

Strangely, when the visit of Radio Leicester had been announced, the meeting of the planning committee was postponed, until, whenever. As a result, Radio Leicester did not come today.

Another whisper was that the developers had brought forward new information shortly before the meeting. A friend who is wise to these things recommends very close scrutiny of the new planning application and the writing of many letters of objection.
