Mountfield Lodge Cottage

Basil woke me by shaking and jumping on the bed at 4 am. Turfed him off and ordered him back to bed, but couldn't sleep.

So I got up at 5.30 am, made a pot of tea and got ready to go out.

Mountfield Lodge Cottage stands on the corner of Epinal Way and Forest Road in Loughborough. The owner puts on a splendid floral display each summer. He won a gold medal in Britain in Bloom in 2012.

The cottage only sees full sunlight shortly after sunrise. Today seemed like a good opportunity to take a photo.

And Basil needed to be taken out after disturbing my sleep. He sat watching quietly while I set up the tripod and took some shots.
