Difficult to choose....

....a good one today.  We went to a funeral today in Devon.  The mother of a friend, she was almost 95, and so had lived a long life but it was, nevertheless, sad for her daughter and sons.  I just caught sight of this tree on the way out and the bark made me think of two people silently watching over everyone who passed through that place.  

One of my extras, in colour as the effect would be wasted if not, is something I've not seen before.  Anyone any ideas as to what could have caused this.  The sun was going down in an almost clear sky and this was to one side.  

I won't be commenting tonight as I'm really tired.  We have stormy weather predicted tonight and in the morning so I may have some time!!
