Frederick
It felt like we spent most of the day in the car.
In reality it was only probably four hours of travelling which we split up with a final stop at IHOP for Amelia in Wilmington and a detour through Philadelphia. We fully intended to stop there and thought we would spend the night. It just didn't work out that way and as it turned out, a small town on a map that took Julie's fancy, turned out to be a real gem and worth the extra travelling to find our room for the night.
Frederick in Maryland (about 60 miles north of DC) has been a great find. A busy town centre with quaint independent shops, busy bars and restaurants. With barely a Starbucks in sight or any big name for that matter.
Gorgeous meal and great service in Olives on Market Street. The salad and pasta made a welcome change from the overload of burgers, fried chicken and pizza we've been living on for the last two weeks.
Good find Jules!
