Fluffy Trio

Yesterday I saw these tiny Mallard chicks still in and around their nest with Mum. I counted 6 bright yellow ones and 2 brown ones. Is this usual or not?

Found them all this morning on the river scooting about with Mum keeping a close eye on them and Dad nearby. Pleased to say a couple of the yellow ones had some flecks of brown feathers.

They were all keeping close to the river bank under the shelter of trees. The water looks dark as it's full of soil and mud brought down from the moors.
