Cerulean
Another gorgeous day - bright, breezy and warm. We headed off towards Peakeen ridge and an exploration of the possible passage tomb that perches on a little ridge with amazing views in every direction. You park up high by the Pieta then stride off into the heather. A lot of people - tourists, cyclists, men with buggies, a woman in very small shorts and very big boots, men with binoculars and excited French - the women in scarves and jackets, the man stripped to the waist - were lurking up here, but few ventured out of the viewing area. We talked to a couple, concerned that they'd left their car door open. They were from Belfast, astonished at the view and the sunshine but their 13 year old refused to leave the car to admire the view so they were just getting on with it.
The tomb is interesting but a bit of a jumble. Stones have been removed, collapsed, piled up willy nilly. Little creatures have burrowed within and the heather is slowly encroaching. It has a smart new sign though - originally tomb was written upon it in yellow paint. Himself then continued off into the wilderness and I returned home to do various things promising to pick him up from somewhere remote later. I lunched outside by the pond. Lovely. Later I went for a swim. The water was clear and inviting but it was astonishingly cold - arctic in fact. Still, not a jellyfsh to be seen.
Don't like the comments being off either. Such a drama queen! I think they'll be back on again shortly.
And it is off course Abstract Thursday, gently hosted by youoregon1. Can you guess what it it yet?
