First and Last

A day trip to Ryde on the Isle of Wight today. 

The first and now oldest pier in the world can be found at Ryde. See the extra photo for a pano of the extra long pier.

The last passenger hovercraft service lands here too, so we had to help ensure it survives by taking a return ticket from Southsea.

We dined at the Castle Hotel (a former Victorian Manor House), after which we all found fun along the esplanade, harbour and beach.
