A Day At A Time.

Fire On The Hill

What a day.

I received my IGCSE results this morning. Out of 24 pupils, I got 13 A*s, 6As, 2 Bs and 3 Cs.

Not too shabby though I say it myself.

And my AS and A2 results were pleasing enough, with no real surprises.

Then this afternoon, we had a fire on the hillside opposite us. So close and the strong westerly wind was fanning the smoke and flames this way. Fortunately the road is between us and the fire, but it has been a dramatic three hours with helicopters dropping water on the fire and refilling from the sea right in front of the house.

I think the worst is over now, but everywhere is tinderbox dry and the fire risk extreme.

I hope the weekend will be a bit less exciting!
