élégance française

...french elegance

...my dad always teased my mum about her French speaking, studies and love for french elegance. But I think that teasing...hearing it as a child made me love French too. I would go through my mum's bookcase where she would keep her french books and notebooks (kept in pristine condition even the ones from her early school years) and would try to learn the language. My mum is Greek not French by the way. To fast forward I started learning french when I was 12 I think and my private tutor was a fantastic woman, she was so passionate, she had lived in France, she would teach us through songs, stories, magazines, she took us to France twice. I experienced France even before I travel to England where I live nowadays. I also remember her little tiny cottage, her wonderful dad and the portrait of her mum that passed away ...in the same room she would teach us. There was so much love in that little beautiful cottage...so much love and magic. She would always call me Nikolaki (little Nikos) even now when I see her she still calls me the same that fires all those memories in my mind every summer.

Tomorrow the wedding will be a magic event. Not me getting married...

My daughter is having a fabulous time since she landed on Tuesday and it looks like that she had many sleepless nights.

I am loving the sun, the ice tea and the great company and I am glad I managed to escape Miss Rain's love back home and come here to daydream, to heal my body in the heat, to bring back wonderful memories from the past like the story I told you just above.

So now ready to experience a lot of the French Elegance and loose myself ...generally loose myself in every possible way. And to start this adventure I have this song playing in mind La Valse d'Amelie
