2015 Tuesday -- Choices

Today we drove northeast to the city of Paseo Robles to the "Totally Tile" store. The time to select tile for the bathroom and kitchen floors and the shower walls and floor and accent tile for the shower is arriving soon. We had been to this store once in May to select tile floor for the guest bathroom downstairs and I was so overwhelmed then that I was not looking forward to entering this store again.

The vast number of choices and combinations is staggering. But today I managed to get some decisions made. So take a look at the photo. The small 2x2 tiles in the lower right corner will be used for shower floor. Standing upright in the top of the photo is the color of the tile for the shower walls.  In the bottom left is the big tile squares that will be used for the bathroom floor. Finally the tiny squares of various colors will be divided into 3-rows (not six) for a strip of accent on the 3-shower walls.

Not pictured is the material I selected for the kitchen floor and for the back splash in the kitchen.

What makes this overwhwlming for me is that the tile store is separate from the cabinet store and from the counter-top store. So the selection is made without everything in the same place so I can determine if every piece is a complement to all the other pirces.
