Golden reed beetles
These were the latest participants in the Home Park insect summer of love, the damsel flies and green mint leaf beetles having presumably worn themselves out. There are a bewildering variety of reed beetles and so far I haven't got a positive identification for these two so any assistance will be much appreciated.
The shot isn't quite as sharp as I would have hoped for but sadly and somewhat predictably within about ten minutes of my arrival in the park for a bug hunt the sun decided to disappear behind the clouds! In the end it was a choice between this pair and yet another multiple amputee spider, so I decided to spare the feelings of all the arachnophobes out there.
