Nice weather for godwits ...

I didn't really have great expectations of seeing anything when I went out to my local patch in the pouring rain this afternoon - but how wrong I was!

I parked up next to a field full of rooks, curlew, greenshank and quite a lot of black tailed godwit(s)  (I've never been sure about the use of the final 's' in plural bird groups .. )


My extra is a comedy fox, climbing a conifer in search of a badly thrown sausage.
