A burst of colour on a drab day

Dull, drab, dank and dreary today, nothing outstanding to blip until I spotted these marigolds doing their best to brighten up the day. They're in the same tub as a couple of cucumber plants and both are doing very well. Plenty of flowers and a good number of cucumbers too.

Went for quite a long walk in the evening in preparation for a fish and chip supper treat at Marino's on the main road in Bearsted. They have a very pleasant restuarant next door to the shop but we were the only ones in there, which is often the case.

Other than that it was a bit of this and a bit of that for the rest of the day. Did some more work on the prison contract, which is now going to continue until next April, made some telephone calls, set up appointments, the shopping online for us and Doreen, ordered some stuff from Amazon, completed my accounts, made some blackberry jelly and the like. Where did the day go?
