We're going on a Sloe Hunt

Yes, we did go, through the swishy grass and the grass which left hundreds of burrs in the dogs' coats!!
We picked sloes while the dogs snuffled about, ran and explored every interesting bit of the field. What a perfect day - not too hot, just right!
Various recipes have been discussed, researched, and written down - sloe gin, sloe whisky etc. 
We managed to pick over 9lbs of the fruit - and there are still plenty left!
Some people might be lucky in a few months time!!?
