Silver Swan
It’s been a busy day and the main chef of the household, was otherwise engaged, so I offered to quickly whip up my take on a Beef Chasseur for dinner….. simple but delicious, don’t you just love a self-pat on the back.
Running out of time to put up a blip photo, so focused on two ornate pieces of silver and crystal (which could really do with a clean!). I think they’re German one is from around 1910 and the other from the 50’s. I do rather like the aggressive stance of the swan on the left and the reflection in the Granite.
The silver Swan, who, living, had no Note,
when Death approached, unlocked her silent throat.
Leaning her breast upon the reedy shore,
thus sang her first and last, and sang no more:
"Farewell, all joys! O Death, come close mine eyes!
More Geese than Swans now live, more Fools than Wise." Orlando Gibbons
