Ain't it Grand!

Listened to six of Australia’s youngest and most promising instrumentalists at the Sydney Conservatorium tonight. The great repertoire was a bonus and all musicians were ably accompanied by brilliant pianists.
 

Snook up to the stage to take this shaky image of the inside of a Steinway and counted 12,116 individual parts, just kidding!   


Evidently just 1 key is made up of over 57 parts and with 88 keys that’s 4,500 parts alone!   Steinway’s are  indeed a work of art!
