Damselflies and dragonflies

Off to the Puffin Pool early this morning, Overcast but warm with hope of a better day later. Several skeins of geese flying over to Munlochy bay.
Went to the Beach café for lunch with Julie, PurpleIsleMum . Lots to catch up on after the six weeks holiday. We were lucky to get the undercover table as it was nt long before a quick rain shower hit us. You could see it coming past the point and I should think the long line of dolphin watchers got a soaking as it was quite heavy.
After our Brownie planning, cup of tea and flapjack (for some reason we thought flapjack was the healthier option ;) the rain had stopped and the sun was blazing down, so we went on a dragonfly and butterfly hunt to the first pond in the Fairy Glen. We were not disappointed as there were plenty around although not really close enough or still enough to get a descent shot. Lots were mating and chasing each other, I think this is a Common Darter ? that landed quite close. Beautiful to watch them and there were plenty of damselflies and one very large blue and black striped dragonfly that did nt land once to my disappointment. Several butterflies spotted, Meadow Brown, female orange tip and Speckled wood.
A beautiful afternoon and I sat in the garden when I got home.
