Ashes to ashes
Through to Port Glasgow today for the first time in over a year for a ceremony involving the ashes of both my dad and his brother. They died within four months of each other last year and it's taken this long for all us to get our act together and do something about them.
We didn't scatter them in the Clyde as this photograph might suggest but the Cloch Lighthouse* was the only photogenic scene available on another rainy day in the west. Every time I go through there it starts to rain as soon as I arrive in Port Glasgow, perhaps someone is trying to tell me something - again.
* It's not even in Port Glasgow, it's in Gourock - and has been since 1797.
