Festival
Obviously there was pottering first. And after lunch, when Mandy had finished her work and taken the mutt out, sanding. Lots of sanding. The floor of the attic landing where I put the reclaimed floor boards ages ago and the floor of the kids' bathroom, which has never had any kind of treatment apart from ill treatment. I didn't hold out much hope for its water-stained surface but it sanded up fine. So that. And a big oak window ledge that was similarly neglected. And then I decided to sand the kitchen worktop. The one that gets all the abuse. That also sanded up lovely, although getting the old oil off was a pain. Anyway, a few jobs done and no mess. (As an aside, if you have sanding to do, I can't recommend these too highly).
Once the kids were back from school we set off for Port of Menteith and Doune the Rabbit Hole - a tiny festival full of obscure bands and soap-dodging hippies. Got ourselves camped up and headed down to the site to meet up with some pals and mooch about.
