Proud Weegie

Tribute.

A beautiful day. Warm and sunny.  Probably the last chance for anyone to get out the paddling pool and BBQ.

Weegie house was a bit slow to get up and running.  Too many party animals recovering (No 1 didn't get home till 4.30 am).  Breakfast for the hordes (pancakes, a ton of bacon, tattie scones - carb overload).

We played in the garden after our guest left for home, a spot of weeding for me, later - a nap in the sunshine.

No 2 had a Lourdes reunion service, and she loved meeting her holiday friends again.  The big girls had a show booked at the festival 'Game of Thrones - the musical', (my sister in Oz would have loved it!).

Since there were only 3 left for dinner, we decided to eat at our local pub.  We hadn't tried it before as under its previous owners it was a bit smelly and allegedly had a rat problem due to its location next to the canal.

Tonight, however, the food was lovely - not a ratburger in sight.

On the way home we stopped at this park.  The family and friends of Valene who very sadly and suddenly passed away last week, leaving two very young children,  had arranged to release balloons and lanterns tonight.  It was too windy to light the lanterns, but the balloons were released and flew high.  It was a very emotional moment, although the children ran about the park, giggling with their school friends and loved been allowed up late on a Sunday Night.
