Wood Pigeon

It's amazing how many birds we have had in our trees lately.  There was the Kea that I blipped on Saturday, and now the Wood Pigeon (aka Kereru).

There were 3 of these gorgeous birds in our Kowhai tree at lunch time, all of them enjoying eating the seeds from last years flowers.  This pigeon was leaning forward to reach the seed pod - it's amazing how it balances itself with its wings.
