Butterflies Galore

Another sunny day here, so perfect for catching up with gardening, which has been sadly neglected while we entertained our visitor.  It's amazing how much everything had grown in two weeks of rain and sunshine!

The buddleia was late in flowering, so we haven't seen many butterflies this year, but they were out in force today and, in spite of a strong breeze, I managed to capture this Small Tortoiseshell and a somewhat smudged  Red Admiral (see Extra).  Did you know that the latter also goes by the name of Vanessa atalanta?  No, neither did I, but isn't it a pretty name?
