Garrya Elliptica

I won't repeat the name of this shrub again as my auto-correct on my iPhone would hardly let me spell it correctly!!
So let us call it the silk tassel bush, prized for its catkins - on the male plant apparently. They are about 20 cm long, and there are many of them!
My book tells me they make interesting cut flowers (line up, floral arrangers!)
But the strangest piece of information is that they "dangle in clusters through winter and into spring..." ???? But it is (believe it or not) August!!
